We suspect that she forgot about us, and only went to get our luggage when my friend enquired as to how much longer it would take. We saw several other people come and depart while we were waiting. When we were leaving, the bell hop seemed to take ages to retrieve our luggage. The pool was very nice, and less crowded when I visited later in the afternoon. I used the Starbucks in the lobby a couple of times and the Italian restaurant was great - the focaccia especially was lovely! The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the strip making it easy to get around. The bathroom mirror was misty for ages after a shower.Īside from these niggles, the hotel was decent enough. This was clearly last renovated when people didn't have their phone next to them at all times.Īnother sign of age was the shower - a fixed head with a less than powerful spray.

The room was a decent size and clean, but you can tell a hotel hasn't been renovated in a while when there are few power points next to the bed.

Our room was on the 12th floor, and had a nice view of the pool and out towards Rio.

I find it difficult to understand why it isn't possible in a hotel of this size to get two rooms on the same booking together. We were lucky and didn't have to queue too long to check in - we saw longer lines at other times during our stay.ĭespite contacting our tour operator and the hotel in advance for inter-connecting, or at least neighbouring, rooms for our party of five, we were still given two rooms a short walk apart. The hotel is starting to show its age, and while we had a pleasent stay, there were a few niggles too. It's well known that this hotel is getting to the end of it's life and will be facing major renovation in the coming months and years.
